Mog's Christmas

Mog’s Christmas

Last week we received a telephone call from Mrs Debbie Wrightson from Sainsbury’s inviting us to receive a copy of Mog’s Christmas and a Mog cuddly toy. We were very excited!

Yesterday morning, Liam and Lilly from Year 2 and Mrs Anderson set off for Sainsbury’s. We were greeted by Mrs Wrightson and Mrs Bamber. We met other children from six   Grantham schools.

We all had a drink and chat in the café and then Debbie and Carol showed us the books and cuddly Mogs. We all loved Mog.

Debbie and Carol explained that the Human Resources department at Grantham Sainsbury’s had carried out money raising activities throughout the year and had been able to buy the books from the proceeds. They had chosen six local schools to receive Mog’s Christmas Calamity and a cuddly Mog. We were lucky enough to be one of the six.

We all gathered around the Christmas tree for the presentation and had our photograph taken. We thanked Debbie and Carol and returned to school.

We will keep the book and Mog in our new library. Mrs Eldred is going to bring in a cosy bed for her to sleep in.

Judith Kerr the author of the book, Harper Collins the publishers and Sainsbury’s will donate all of their profits from the sale of the book to Save the Children to improve child literacy in the U.K.
