School Coronavirus Update

A letter has gone out to parents/carers today stating that:

 At The Isaac Newton Primary School, we are working through a staged and sensible risk assessment to help ensure that we can delay the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19). As part of this there are a number of actions which we will need to take with immediate effect. These are outlined below:

  • Parents’ Evenings on Wednesday 18th March and Thursday 19th March will be cancelled. This is a Trust wide decision and applies to all schools within CIT.  As the future of the virus still remains uncertain, we are not able to confirm whether we will be able to re-arrange Parents’ Evenings appointments at this time. 
  • Trips out will be stopped or reduced to a minimum, including sporting fixtures. This includes rock climbing and swimming sessions which will not be taking place until further notice. There will therefore we no netball tournament on Wednesday 18th March or netball fixtures on Thursday 19th March. The PGL half day visit for our Year 5 children on Monday 23rd March will also not be taking place and will be re-arranged for later on in the year.
  • The school will reduce the number of visitors coming into the school building to only those who are deemed as essential. As a result, ‘Positive Futures’, which takes place after school on a Thursday, will be cancelled until further notice. School Photographs will also not be taking place on Wednesday 1st April, these have now been re-arranged for Monday 18th May 2020.
  • All school events will be cancelled this side of the Easter Holiday. This includes ‘Family Bingo’ on Tuesday 24th March and the ‘Chocolate Raffle on Tuesday 31st March. This is again to stop all but essential visitors coming into the school building.
