Weekly Roundup

7th July 2017
It has been another fabulous week here at Isaac Newton with lots continuing to happen.
On Monday we welcomed Paul (from Grantham Football Club) and Michael (Governor at Gonerby Hill Foot) to assembly. They had come to award the Isaac Newton Football B Team with the league champions’ shield. Well done to all of the children who played for the team this year. Your work-rate and team spirit gives us a huge sense of pride.

On Tuesday the children met their teachers for September (see below). Each teacher was extremely pleased with the attitudes displayed by their new class and the children made good first impressions!
On Wednesday we were visited by a theatre company. The pupils in Years 1-6 were treated to a performance of “The Little Princess” which they all really enjoyed. Drama is fantastic and enhances literacy within the school whilst helping to give the children a fuller understanding of the way in which dialogue can hold a story together.
On Thursday evening we were treated to some great magic when “Mark’s Magic Kingdom” visited. A huge thank you to all of the Parents/Carers and children who attended. I would also like to thank Mrs Toole who organised the event and has been marvelous at ensuring that a range of such activities have continued throughout the year.
Finally, as the newsletter is printed (so long as the weather has been fine) the Foundation Stage and Key Stage One pupils will be taking part in sports day. I am sure that they have been brilliant and have learned a lot about both winning with grace and losing with dignity. These are both really important skills.
