Weekly Roundup

12th January 2018

Welcome back.  I hope you all had a fantastic break during Christmas and New Year.  We are delighted to have the children back at school and are really enjoying our new themes.  The topics for this term are as follows:

Foundation Stage:       We could be Heroes

Years 1 and 2:             Into the Woods

Years 3 and 4              Savage Stone Age

Years 5 and 6               Mighty Mountains

The homework grids and overviews of the curriculum are now available in the “Homework” section of the school website.

A lot happened in the final two weeks of school prior to the Christmas break.  We were delighted to welcome the Lionesses to school to help us out with the Christmas Fair.  They were their usual brilliant selves and helped us to decorate lots of cakes!

The raffle was drawn in the final week of term and the lucky winners were:

Hamper 1        Jacob – Class 2

Hamper 2        Brooke – Class 13

Hamper 3        Lexi – Year 4

Drone              Lexi – Year 5

We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated an item to help the Fair to be so successful.

On the final of Tuesday of term we welcomed Maggie and Les from Rotary Stars to our assembly.  One child from each class was selected as the the star for the half term (Oct – Dec).  The children had to show a great attitude or have been noticed for work that they do to help others.  Well done to all of those pupils that were selected.

Final assembly saw 14 children being awarded with an achievement medal.  This is an amazing award to be selected for as it only happens once a term!

We also announced the class winning the attendance award.  Well done to class 13 – you will now be able to organise a treat.  We are currently at 95.9% attendance as a whole school and would really appreciate your support as we try and gain an attendance rate of over 96% for the first time in the school’s history!
